Well done to Angus Wilkinson who won this year’s SATS (Scottish Association of Track Statisticians) Under 15 Challenge – the first time someone from the club has won it.
The challenge is run by Scottish Athletics statistician Arnold Black and has been running since 2014. The Challenge Rankings comprise an athlete’s top 3 performance scores in the 2022 outdoor season, along with bonus points for performances at World, British and Scottish Championships.
Angus’s top 3 performances were his 3000m Scottish U15 record of 8:58, then two 1500m performances of 4:01 and 4:04.
Francis Santangeli finished an excellent 5th in the U15 Challenge after a season of brilliant times over the 300m distance.
We couldn’t resist posting Francis’s celebratory leap as he crossed the line to win the 300m at the Scottish Athletics U15 Championships.
An amazing achievement for both athletes. This year’s U15 age group was of a very high standard: 2nd place in the Challenge broke the Scottish Athletics U15 Girls 200m record, while 3rd broke the 100m record!
